Scenario
After a family tragedy, three generations of the Deetz family return home to Winter River. Still haunted by Beetlejuice, Lydia’s life is turned upside down when her teenage daughter Astrid accidentally opens a portal to the afterlife. Jenna Ortega, Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder, Catherine O’Hara, Justin Theroux and Monica Bellucci share why filming Tim Burton’s Beetlejuice Beetlejuice was an experience they’ll never forget. Tim Burton said that this film would only be made if Michael Keaton returned to reprise his role. Lydia tells Astrid that Rory wants to get married at midnight on Halloween night. That would make it November 1st, since midnight is the start of a new day, so it would no longer be Halloween.

Having only recently seen the original film, I didn’t come into this film with high expectations.
The acting in the film was excellent from all parties involved
In that sense, I may judge it differently than someone who was a fan of the classic, so keep that in mind. Overall, I had a great time and think the movie is a decent sequel to the cult classic. Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, who I admire from "Smallville" as children bring their unique storytelling style to the world of *Bug Juice* in a film that is very different from its predecessor, but in a fresh way that also respects the original. Tim Burton of course brings his unique style and this certainly feels like a Tim Burton movie in every sense of the word. The visual effects and production design are beautifully crafted, with the classic feel of the Burton films of the ’80s and ’90s, but with today’s technology and expanded possibilities. Michael Keaton in the iconic role looks and acts exactly the same as if 36 years had not passed since the filming of the first film.
Another outstanding performance in the film was Willem Dafoe, in an excellent and unusual comic role
Winona Ryder, who has become a much more experienced actress since the original film, leads the film proudly, and the great Justin Theroux is hilariously funny in his own unique way. Jenna Ortega, although she has given a good performance, I feel a little overexposed in recent years because her presence is inescapable everywhere you look. I’d love to see her take on a more challenging role that gives a drastically different performance than usual to justify the hype. Overall, the cast is packed with big names who are always a joy to see on screen. Another strength of the film is the musical side – which the first film was very famous for. A good selection of songs, especially fun "music tracks" references to the classics from the first film and in particular a slightly different spin on Danny Elfman’s iconic and wonderful theme music that will delight any fan of the classic film.
which stays true to the spirit of the story and to what cinema should be
In general, while I recently watched the first film, it’s impossible to ignore how much fan service this film provides to fans of the classic film – and I mean that in the most positive way possible. This isn’t the modern, boring fan service seen in quite a few franchise movies these days, but something that respects the original and gives the fans waiting for the sequel what they wanted, all in a logical, enjoyable way.
